Trade Plan Checklist Card
A trading plan written down somewhere else is a plan that gets skipped the moment the setup looks good and the finger is already near the mouse. This script puts the checklist on the chart itself, computed fresh from the prices and time you are looking at right now. Entering a planned entry, stop and target produces risk in pips and in money, and the reward in R if a target is set. The risk figure comes from MODE_TICKVALUE and MODE_TICKSIZE, never a flat per-pip assumption - a "$10 a pip" shortcut that works on a standard forex lot is simply wrong on gold, indices, and several other instrument classes the same terminal quotes, and a card that gets that number wrong is worse than no card at all. The session field compares the current server hour against a window you define, correctly handling a window that crosses midnight server time. The spread field reads the live spread and flags it when it is wider than your threshold. The event field is filled in by hand - a datetime and a label you type before the session, not read automatically from a calendar file. A separate project in this catalogue already turns an economic calendar file into chart markers; duplicating that file format and parser here would be a second, weaker copy of a job already done properly elsewhere. Every field that fails its own check is coloured differently from the rest of the card, so the one thing worth reconsidering is visible at a glance rather than buried in a sentence you have to read closely. Notes and limitations - The card is a snapshot, not a live display - it does not update on its own as price or the clock moves. Run the script again to refresh it. - Session hours are server time, which is not the trader's local time and varies by broker. Check your terminal's server time before setting the window. - The event field only ever shows what you typed in. It has no calendar feed and cannot warn you about an event you did not enter. - Risk and reward figures assume the entry, stop and target you typed are the ones actually sent - the card does not read or track a live position.
