Terminal Settings Dump
Support threads and forum posts about a script or EA behaving oddly almost always start the same way: "what build are you on", "is DLL import allowed", "is AutoTrading actually on", "how much RAM does the machine have". Answering that properly means opening several different dialogs in the terminal and copying numbers out by hand, and it is easy to miss one or misreport a setting that was changed months ago and forgotten. This script reads them all in one pass and prints them together, each with a line of plain English next to it rather than a bare constant name. The trap this script avoids is the account number. AccountNumber() is the obvious thing to include in a report like this, and it is also the one value a user should never paste into a public forum post or an unencrypted support ticket - an account login is enough for some brokers' support desks to act on over the phone, and posting a full screenshot with it visible is a mistake made constantly. Rather than leave that decision to whoever runs the script, the report masks it before it is ever printed: a fixed run of asterisks followed by exactly the last three digits, regardless of how many digits the real login has. A fixed-width mask also avoids the smaller leak of showing how long the account number is. Anyone who genuinely needs the full number still has it in the terminal's own login dialog; this script's job is to make the safe screenshot the default one. This is the terminal and environment counterpart to "Account Summary To Journal" (catalogue S046, folder AccountSummary), which reports the account's trading numbers - balance, equity, margin, free margin. That script answers "what is this account worth right now"; this one answers "what is this terminal allowed to do, and what is the machine running it on". Between the two, most of what a support thread asks for is covered without opening a single settings dialog. Notes and limitations This is a read-only snapshot, not a diagnostic or repair tool. It does not change any setting, and it cannot turn AutoTrading on, enable DLL imports, or fix a broken email configuration - it only reports what it finds. Some TERMINAL_* values can legitimately come back as zero or otherwise unavailable depending on the operating system, the terminal build and how the machine is configured - reported CPU core count and memory figures in particular are read from the operating system by the terminal and are not guaranteed on every platform. A zero in one of those rows is being reported honestly, not hidden or estimated. The masked account number is printed to the Experts log and, if requested, to a CSV file on this machine. Masking protects against an accidental screenshot or a casual copy-paste; it is not encryption, and anyone with file access to this machine's MQL4\Files folder or terminal logs has the same access to that folder as to any other file on the system. Terminal build, folder paths and the language string reflect this installation only. Running the same script on a different machine, or a different terminal instance on the same machine, can and normally will report different values.
