Taylor Trading Technique System
Taylor's book describes a repeating three-day rotation for every instrument: a Buying Day, where an early decline is expected and bought near the low; a Selling Day, where the rally from the Buying Day is expected to carry to a higher high and is sold into, with a short probe possible as it stalls; and a Sell-Short Day, where further decline is expected from the Selling Day's high, pressed short and covered on the next Buying Day's low. This EA runs that exact rotation, attributed plainly to its published source rather than presented as a novel system. The cycle advances once per completed daily bar, not per calendar day, so weekends and holidays - which simply produce no new D1 bar - never desynchronise the rotation the way a naive day-of-week counter would. Each day's single entry rule is evaluated once, at a configurable server hour, against a trigger zone measured in ATR from the previous day's high or low: a Buying Day waits for price to dip into the zone above yesterday's low before buying; a Selling Day and Sell-Short Day wait for a rally into the zone below yesterday's high before acting. Stops and targets are likewise set in ATR from the previous day's extremes, and position size is computed from account equity and the actual stop distance rather than a fixed lot value. An optional switch force-closes any position still open when the cycle rolls to the next day type, matching Taylor's own three-day rhythm rather than letting a position drift indefinitely against the published method. Notes and limitations Taylor's technique is a discretionary reading of daily rhythm applied mechanically here; it carries no guarantee of edge on any given instrument or era, and the published method predates modern intraday/algorithmic market structure by decades. The starting cycle day is a required, unavoidable input - there is no purely mechanical way to tell a Buying Day from a Selling Day from price alone without first anchoring the rotation to a known reference day, and a wrong starting anchor keeps every subsequent day's classification wrong until the EA is restarted with a corrected one. This EA trades one position at a time on its own magic number and does not manage pyramiding or partial exits beyond the single stop/target per entry.
