Session Clock Dial
Session-hours panels are almost always text tables or coloured rectangles on the timeline; this one is a genuine analogue dial instead, anchored to a fixed chart corner independent of the price/time scale so it reads the same whether the chart is zoomed to one bar or a thousand. Neither MQL4 nor MQL5 has an arc or circle chart object that anchors in pixel space rather than price/time space - OBJ_TREND and OBJ_ELLIPSE are both price/time-anchored and would distort or scroll off with the chart. The dial is instead built entirely from small OBJ_LABEL dots placed point-by-point with trigonometry around a fixed pixel centre: the same corner-anchoring mechanism used by ordinary text panels, just applied 24 times around a ring plus a run of dots forming the hand, rather than once for a single rectangle. Each of the 24 hourly tick dots is coloured by which session owns that GMT hour (Sydney, Tokyo, London, New York), with the two heaviest-volume overlaps (London/New York, Tokyo/Sydney) taking colour priority when two sessions' windows share an hour, since those overlap hours are the ones traders most want called out at a glance. The hand redraws once a GMT minute rather than on every tick, so it does not churn the chart's object list on a fast-moving instrument. Notes and limitations Session hours read the platform's TimeGMT(), which MQL4's own documentation describes as an estimate derived from the broker server's declared DST rule, not a guaranteed-exact GMT feed - it can be briefly wrong for a day or two around a DST transition if the broker's own rule differs from the assumption. This is a display-only panel: it does not detect volatility or volume, only clock position relative to the configured session windows, and does not manage a trade. The 24 hour-tick dots use a single flat colour per hour rather than a smooth gradient across an overlap boundary, so a session's start/end hour is a hard edge on the dial, not a fade.
