Prop Challenge Progress Snapshot
A prop-firm dashboard updates on the firm's own schedule and is not always open while a trader is deciding whether to take one more trade today. This script computes the same core numbers directly from the account's own history and current state: how many calendar days have passed since the challenge started against the time limit, how much profit remains to reach the target, and how much buffer is left before the daily-loss and overall-drawdown limits would end the challenge. MT4 keeps no historical equity curve, so the starting balance (unless given directly) and the peak balance since the challenge began are both reconstructed by replaying closed-trade history forward from the start date - a genuine reconstruction from real trade records, not a guess, but not guaranteed to match a firm's own internal ledger to the cent if it applies rules MT4's history does not expose. Today's loss buffer compares current equity against the balance reconstructed for the start of today, so open floating losses count against the daily limit the same way a firm's own monitor would treat them. Every run also appends one row to a history CSV, so buffers can be watched shrinking or growing across the challenge rather than only ever seeing today's figure. Notes and limitations Reconstructed starting balance and peak balance assume no deposits or withdrawals occurred during the challenge; a mid-challenge balance operation will throw off the auto-detected starting balance, in which case set InpStartingBalance directly instead. The peak-balance replay assumes MT4's closed-order history is stored in chronological order, which is the platform's normal behaviour but is not a guarantee. This is not an official reading from any prop firm's own systems - always treat the firm's own dashboard as authoritative if the two ever disagree.
