Point Value Anomaly Scanner
Most published EAs carry a handful of unstated assumptions: a pip is always 10 points on a 3 or 5 digit quote, a contract size is always 100000, a lot step evenly divides the minimum lot, a tick value is never zero. Every one of those is broker- and symbol- specific, and every one of them has broken a live EA on some symbol somewhere - usually an index, a metal, or a broker-specific synthetic instrument that quietly doesn't follow the FX convention. This script checks those assumptions directly against MarketInfo() for every symbol in Market Watch (or an explicit list), rather than assuming any of them hold. It flags: digit counts outside the FX-standard 2/3/4/5 range, a point value that disagrees with the digit count, a tick size that isn't a whole multiple of the point, a zero or missing tick value, a contract size outside the common 1/10/100/1000/10000/100000 family, a minimum lot that isn't itself a multiple of the lot step, a maximum lot below the minimum, and a negative stop or freeze level (a MarketInfo read failure, not a real broker setting). Nothing here is a hardcoded contract size or point value being checked against - every comparison reads the symbol's own reported figures and checks them for internal consistency, so the scanner works identically across brokers and instrument classes. Notes and limitations An "anomaly" is not automatically a broker error - some, like a non-standard contract size on an index or metal, are entirely normal for that instrument class and simply mean an EA cannot assume the FX-standard figures for it. The scanner is meant to surface exactly which assumptions need checking per symbol, not to declare a broker broken. A symbol not yet subscribed by the broker (no live quote) is skipped and reported rather than silently ignored.
