Multi Terminal Config Checker
Running several terminals side by side on the same machine - one per broker, one per strategy, a VPS mirror kept in sync with a home installation - makes it easy for one of them to quietly drift from the others. A different build after an update prompt was dismissed on only one machine. AutoTrading re-enabled on one terminal but not another after a routine restart. DLL imports left on in one instance and off in another. None of these show up unless someone opens every terminal's Options dialog side by side and compares them by eye, which nobody actually does on a regular basis. This script automates that comparison using the one folder every terminal installed under the same Windows user account can already see: Common\Files, reached with FILE_COMMON. Run it on each terminal in turn and it writes that terminal's own snapshot - build number, AutoTrading and DLL permission, notification channels, server, currency, leverage, demo/live status, and more - into a shared subfolder, then reads every snapshot already sitting there (including ones from terminals run earlier) and reports, terminal pair by terminal pair, exactly which settings differ and what each side's value is. Identity fields (which instance a snapshot came from) and the timestamp are deliberately excluded from the diff itself, since those are expected to differ by design and would otherwise drown out the settings that actually matter. The account number is masked to its last three digits in every snapshot, the same convention this catalogue's TerminalSettingsDump.mq4 (S100) uses, because a file sitting in a folder shared by every terminal on the machine is exactly the kind of place a full account number should not be casually left lying around. Notes and limitations Every terminal being compared must actually run this script at least once to publish its snapshot - there is no way to inspect a terminal that has never run it. A snapshot is only as current as the last time the script was run on that terminal; this tool has no way to know a snapshot is stale. Comparison uses the alphabetically-first snapshot filename as the baseline for every pairing shown, not a specifically-designated "correct" configuration - it reports differences, it does not decide which side of a difference is the intended one. Common\Files is shared by every terminal running under the same Windows user account on this machine, but not across different machines. Two terminals on different physical machines (e.g. home and a VPS) need some other shared location for their snapshots to be compared this way - this tool cannot reach across machines on its own. This is a read-only comparison; it does not change any terminal's settings and does not attempt to bring a drifted terminal back into line.
