Missing Symbol Availability Checker
A strategy or portfolio built against one broker's symbol names quietly breaks on another broker the moment a name does not match exactly - a missing pair here, a suffix added there - and the first sign of it is usually a symbol that simply never trades, discovered much later than it should have been. This script checks a required symbol list against everything the current broker actually offers and reports each one as present, missing, or possibly renamed. The naive version stops at "not found," which is true but unhelpful when the real answer is that EURUSD is simply listed as EURUSD.a or EURUSDm on this particular server. Every miss is additionally checked for broker symbols that contain the required name as a substring, so a rename shows up as a specific suggestion rather than a dead end that needs manual searching. The required list can be typed directly into the input or read from a plain text file, one symbol per line, which makes checking the same portfolio against several brokers a matter of re-running the script rather than re-typing anything. Notes and limitations - The broker symbol list checked is every symbol the server offers, not just what happens to be in Market Watch already, so nothing is missed just because it was never added to the watchlist. - Rename suggestions are found by substring matching only - a broker that renames a pair to something unrelated to the original name (rather than the original name plus a suffix or prefix) will still be reported as missing rather than matched. - This checks symbol name availability only. It does not check whether a matched symbol is actually tradeable right now - pair it with a readiness or trade-permission check for that.

Missing Symbol Availability Checker is a script for MetaTrader 5. It can alert you with a pop-up, sound, email or push message and is set up for gold (XAUUSD). It has 3 settings, such as Required symbols, File name and Write csv report. MQL source code included.

How to install
- Download the ZIP from your PolyMaria library and unzip it.
- In MetaTrader 5 open File → Open Data Folder, then go to MQL5 → Scripts.
- Copy the .mq5 file(s) there. Put any .mqh files in MQL5 → Include.
- Open the .mq5 file in MetaEditor and press Compile (F7) if MetaTrader does not show it.
- Drag the script onto a chart to run it once.
