Maria AfterMath

Maria AfterMath opens a BUY basket and a SELL basket and runs an independent grid on each side. When price moves against the newest order of a side by the grid distance, the EA adds the next level with a multiplied lot. While one side is building, the other side is usually in profit, and each side closes at its own breakeven / take profit and then starts again. Everything is controlled from a live panel on the chart. When you attach it, you choose how to work: - AUTO TRADING: the EA runs the grid by itself. - MANUAL TRADING: you open trades from the panel, the EA manages take profit, stop loss and trailing for you. AUTO GRID - Entry signal: Hedge (start both sides at once), RSI, Volume spike or StdDev band, with an optional 2nd filter (AND / OR). - Higher-timeframe trend filter (MA direction + slope), optional ADX gate and close-on-flip. - Grid distance: fixed pips, ATR (follows volatility) or time-spaced (a new level every N bars). - Lot multiplier per level, separate level limits for BUY and SELL, restart delay after a side closes. - Symbol auto-scale: one set of pip inputs works on FX, gold, indices and crypto. EXITS AND RECOVERY - Per-order take profit / stop loss in pips, money or % of balance. - Breakeven per side (close the side at a small profit and restart it) and trailing stop. - Emergency Shrinking: closes the deepest levels as soon as their combined profit allows, and uses that profit to cut the rest of the basket. - Recovery boost: the winning side can start bigger to help pay for the losing side (off by default). - Net-flat lock with harvest: caps a runaway floating loss by balancing both sides, then slowly buys back the loser (off by default). - REDUCE: one click (or automatic) haircut that partially closes every order by the % you choose. RISK CONTROL - Drawdown stop (default 40% of balance): closes everything and stops the EA. - Profit GOAL in $ or %: close all and pause, or close all and start a new goal (progress bar on the panel). - Equity step target, daily and monthly profit / loss stops. - Safety limits: max total lots, max lot per order (fixed or scaled to balance), max open orders, max spread, min margin level, max grid span, max basket age. - Free margin is checked before every order; the EA never sends an order the account cannot afford. - Trading days and hours, London / New York / Asia sessions, Friday close, rollover block, news pause. MANUAL TRADING DESK - BUY / SELL market orders and pending orders: drag the price line, the EA picks LIMIT or STOP for you. - Take profit and stop loss lines you can drag on the chart; the order is modified when you drop the line. - Lot box with quick buttons (/2, x2), TP / SL in pips, money or %. - CLOSE menu: CLOSE ALL, CLOSE BUY, CLOSE SELL, CLOSE WINS, CLOSE LOSS, partial close 25% / 50% / 75%, and CLOSE ALL PAIRS for the whole account. - FULL LOCK: tops up the smaller side so both sides carry equal lots. - REPORT: saves an HTML trading report into the MQL4\Files folder. READY PRESETS (load them in Inputs > Load) - Maria AfterMath - Conservative.set: 8 levels, x1.2, drawdown stop 25%, net-flat lock ON - Maria AfterMath - Balanced.set: 10 levels, x1.4, drawdown stop 40% (the default inputs) - Maria AfterMath - Aggressive.set: 15 levels, x1.5, drawdown stop 60% HOW TO USE 1. MT4 hedge grid EA with separate BUY and SELL grids and a live trading panel

How Maria AfterMath works

What Maria AfterMath does

Maria AfterMath is a hedge grid Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 4. It opens a BUY basket and a SELL basket on the same symbol and runs an independent grid on each side. When price moves against the newest order of a side by the grid distance, the EA adds the next level with a bigger lot (previous lot x multiplier, default x1.4). While one side is building, the other side is usually in profit. Each side closes at its own breakeven or take profit and then starts again. One side closing never touches the other side.

Two ways to work: AUTO or MANUAL

When you attach the EA, a window on the chart asks how you want to work. In AUTO TRADING the EA runs the grid by itself with the entry you choose: Hedge (both sides at once), RSI, Volume spike or StdDev band, with an optional second filter and a higher-timeframe trend filter. In MANUAL TRADING you open market or pending orders from the trading desk, and the EA manages take profit, stop loss, breakeven and trailing for you. The EA always starts paused, so nothing is traded until you check the settings and press Start Bot.

Installation and ready presets

In MetaTrader 4 open File > Open Data Folder, copy Maria AfterMath.ex4 into MQL4 > Experts, refresh the Navigator and drag the EA onto a chart such as EURUSD or XAUUSD. Tick Allow live trading and make sure AutoTrading is on. Three preset files come with the EA: Conservative (8 levels, x1.2, drawdown stop 25%, net-flat lock on), Balanced (10 levels, x1.4, drawdown stop 40%, the same as the default inputs) and Aggressive (15 levels, x1.5, drawdown stop 60%). Load one in the Inputs tab with Load.

Grid settings and exits

The grid step can be fixed pips, follow volatility (ATR) or be time based, with a new level every N bars. Symbol auto-scale lets one set of pip inputs work on FX, gold, indices and crypto. The base lot can be fixed or sized from the balance (default 0.01 lot per 2,500 of balance). Exits work from small to big: take profit per order, breakeven per side, Emergency Shrinking of deep baskets, an equity step (default +1%), an account GOAL (default +10%) and the drawdown stop (default 40% from the equity high).

Safety limits and panel tools

Safety limits cap total lots, lot per order, open orders, spread, margin level, grid span and basket age. Free margin is checked before every order, and orders the account cannot afford are skipped. You can limit trading days and hours, close before the weekend, block the rollover hour and pause new orders around news. The panel adds a CLOSE menu (all, one side, wins, losses, partial close), REDUCE to cut every order by a share, FULL LOCK to balance both sides, and an HTML trading report.

Risks and limits

Maria AfterMath uses a grid with a lot multiplier, which is martingale-style sizing. The stop loss per order is off by default, and the drawdown stop is the main protection. A long one-way move can build a large position and cause a large loss. The EA is made for hedging accounts, where BUY and SELL can be open on one symbol. In the Strategy Tester it runs the AUTO grid from the inputs, because panel buttons cannot be clicked there. Run every new setting on a demo account first and only trade money you can afford to lose.

Questions

Which platform and account type does Maria AfterMath need?

It is an Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 4. It is made for hedging accounts, because BUY and SELL orders must be open on the same symbol at the same time. Copy the .ex4 file into MQL4 > Experts, attach it to a chart, tick Allow live trading and turn AutoTrading on.

Can I use the same settings on gold, indices and crypto?

Yes, with symbol auto-scale on. The EA detects the instrument and scales every pip setting, such as grid, take profit, stop loss, breakeven and trailing. The guide suggests leaving auto-scale on and using the ATR distance mode for gold and indices, so the grid step follows volatility.

What does the drawdown stop do?

When equity falls a set percentage below its highest point, the EA closes everything and pauses. The default is 40%. The Conservative preset uses 25% and the Aggressive preset uses 60%. Because the stop loss per order is off by default, this is the main protection of the account.

Does the EA need an internet connection?

Only for the optional news pause, which reads a live economic calendar. To use it, open Tools > Options > Expert Advisors, tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL and add https://nfs.faireconomy.media. Everything else works without internet, and the EA never uses the internet in the Strategy Tester.

Is a hedge grid EA risky?

Yes. Maria AfterMath adds levels with growing lots, which is martingale-style sizing. In a long move in one direction the losing side can become a large position and cause a large loss. Past results do not guarantee future results. Test every setting on a demo account, start with small lots and only trade money you can afford to lose.
