Margin Call Distance Meter
The margin level percentage shown in the terminal tells you where the account stands right now, but not how close that is to actually mattering - a trader has to do the arithmetic themselves to turn "68% margin level" into "how many pips of EURUSD until that becomes 50%". Most never do it until the platform does it for them, forcibly. This EA reads the account's stop-out mode, call level and stop-out level directly from the terminal, works out each symbol's net exposure from its open positions, and solves for the adverse price move in points and pips that would take account equity down to the call threshold and to the stop-out threshold, holding every other symbol's price and the current total margin requirement constant. That last part matters: it is a distance warning, not a prediction. Real margin requirement can itself change as price moves for some instrument types, and multiple symbols moving together compounds the effect faster than any single-symbol distance suggests. Treat the figures as "this is the room you currently have on this symbol alone", not as an exact countdown. Notes and limitations - Assumes total margin requirement stays constant as price moves; this is an approximation, not exact for every instrument and broker margin model. - Distances are computed per symbol independently and do not account for multiple symbols moving adversely at the same time, which reaches the same equity threshold faster than any single distance shown. - A symbol with equal and opposite buy and sell exposure (hedging accounts only) nets to zero and is reported as no net exposure, since price movement in either direction does not change equity for that flat hedge. - Read-only. It never sends, modifies or closes an order - only Alert and Comment are used to surface what it finds.
