Ichimoku Kumo Breakout EA

The Kumo cloud, formed by Senkou Span A and B, is one of the most widely used support/resistance zones in Ichimoku analysis, and trading a clean break of it is a standard, published entry technique. This EA implements exactly that and nothing more: no Tenkan/Kijun cross filter, no Chikou confirmation, so what you see is the raw cloud-breakout signal on its own. "Breakout" is defined deliberately simply here: the most recently closed bar's price sits on the opposite side of the cloud from where the bar before it sat. It does not attempt to reconstruct how the cloud itself was shaped by price action Kijun periods ago - that reconstruction is a common source of confusion, and of accidental repainting, in home-built Ichimoku EAs. MQL4's iIchimoku() already returns Senkou Span A/B pre-shifted to align with the bar you ask for, so this EA reads the buffer directly with no manual shifting. Stop loss and take profit are fixed pip distances rather than cloud-derived levels, because cloud thickness varies enormously bar to bar and a stop that size can be either far too tight or far too loose depending on where the breakout happens to occur - a fixed distance keeps risk consistent and is the simpler thing to teach from. Position sizing can run as a fixed lot or, with InpUseRiskSizing on, as a percentage of equity risked to that stop distance, using MODE_TICKVALUE and MODE_TICKSIZE rather than a hardcoded contract size so it prices correctly on gold, indices and JPY crosses as well as plain FX pairs. Notes and limitations - No Tenkan/Kijun or Chikou confirmation - this is the bare cloud-breakout signal, which whipsaws in a ranging market like any breakout system does. Combine it with your own filter if you need fewer, higher-quality signals. - Signals are evaluated once per closed bar, not on every tick. - Needs at least InpSenkouPeriod plus a handful of bars of history before it will produce a signal; it waits silently until then. - One position at a time, tracked by InpMagicNumber. It will not manage or interfere with trades opened manually or by another EA.
