Cross Market Confirmation Panel

Confirming a forex move against the broader macro backdrop (is the dollar broadly strong, is risk sentiment behind this move, does oil or gold agree) normally means opening three or four extra charts and eyeballing each one. That workflow does not scale under time pressure and gets skipped in practice, which is exactly when a contradicted move is most costly to have missed. This panel reads up to four reference symbols the trader configures - dollar index, gold, oil, and an equity index by default - plus the chart's own symbol, and shows a simple fast/slow moving-average trend read (UP, DOWN, or FLAT) for each, refreshed every tick. Broker symbol naming for these four reference instruments is genuinely inconsistent across brokers - a true dollar index (DXY/USDX) is not universally offered, and gold/oil/index tickers vary (XAUUSD vs GOLD, USOIL vs WTI, US30 vs DJ30, and so on). Every reference symbol is therefore a plain text input the trader types to match their own Market Watch. A symbol left blank hides that row entirely; a symbol that is filled in but not available from the broker still shows its row, labelled "n/a", so the trader can tell "I did not configure this" apart from "my broker does not carry this instrument" rather than the row silently disappearing either way. Notes and limitations The trend read is a plain two-MA comparison, not a validated signal - it is meant as a quick visual confirmation aid, not a standalone entry trigger. Symbol availability for the dollar index, oil, and equity index references varies enormously by broker; this panel cannot detect or work around a broker that simply does not offer one of these instruments, and says so plainly via the "n/a" row state and a one-time log message at load rather than guessing an alternative symbol name.
