Camarilla Pivot Levels
Camarilla pivots are a fixed formula applied to the previous day's high, low and close: eight levels above and below a central pivot, spaced by a 1.1 scaling factor that concentrates most of them close to the prior close. The formula itself is unremarkable and widely available - what usually goes missing in a plain implementation is the two zones the method is actually built around: R3 to S3 is where price spends most of an ordinary day, and a close beyond R4 or S4 is the method's own definition of a confirmed breakout rather than just another level tick. This indicator plots all nine lines as step levels that update at every new trading day, and adds the two zones as shaded fills rather than making the trader eyeball the gap between two thin lines. Each day's levels are computed from that specific day's own prior-day data, so historical days on the chart show the levels that were actually current at the time, not today's numbers projected backward. Notes and limitations - Levels use the classic 1.1 scaling factor and the previous day's raw high/low/close; some variants use a different multiplier or a rolling session instead of the calendar day - this is the standard textbook version. - "Reversal zone" and "breakout zone" describe the shading only; the indicator does not detect an actual reversal or breakout event, place an alert, or draw an arrow - it is a visual reference for a discretionary trader. - On a symbol with a short or irregular trading day (some indices, weekends), the prior-day range used for the formula can be unusually narrow or wide, which compresses or widens every level accordingly.
