Aroon Indicator Pair
Aroon measures how long ago, inside a fixed lookback window, price last made a new high (Aroon Up) or a new low (Aroon Down). A reading near 100 means the extreme happened on the most recent bar - a fresh breakout is still in force. A reading near 0 means the extreme sits at the far edge of the window, aging out. The oscillator is simply Up minus Down, giving a single -100 to +100 line for trend strength and direction. Each value is computed as a plain fixed-window scan for the highest high or lowest low inside the lookback, with ties resolved toward the most recent bar (matching the published convention of using the most recent occurrence when an extreme repeats within the window). There is no recursive smoothing anywhere in the calculation, so every bar's reading depends only on its own window and is unaffected by how much history MetaTrader has already calculated. Notes and limitations - Needs at least InpPeriod + 1 bars of history before it starts plotting. - This is a trend-strength/timing gauge only - it does not generate trade signals or alerts. - Ties between the current bar and an earlier bar for the window extreme resolve toward the most recent bar, per the published convention; this can differ slightly from implementations that resolve ties the other way on genuinely flat price data.
