Anonymised History Sharer
A plain trade-history export leaks more than most people intend when they paste it into a forum thread or send it to a stranger for a "review my results" opinion. The statement header carries the account number and broker/server name. The symbol column names the exact instrument. The open/close price columns, cross-referenced against any public price feed, can pin down the exact time and instrument a trade happened - even if the symbol name itself is manually blanked out afterwards. This script writes a CSV that never contains any of that in the first place. Symbols are replaced with a consistent per-run tag (SYM1, SYM2, and so on) - the same real symbol always gets the same tag within one file, so a reader can still see "this system trades four instruments with these result patterns" without learning which four. Absolute prices are dropped entirely; only the pip result and, where a stop was recorded, the R-multiple survive. Holding time is rounded down to whole hours rather than kept to the minute, which is fine resolution for judging a system and coarse enough that it adds no help re-identifying an exact trade. Lot size - which can hint at account size - is left out by default and only included if you explicitly turn it on. Notes and limitations Nothing in this file identifies the account, broker, server or absolute price level a trade happened at - but the script cannot scrub a comment field written by a broker or EA that happens to contain identifying text (an account nickname embedded in an EA's order comment, for instance). Read the output once before sharing it. Symbol tags are assigned in the order symbols are first met during this run and are not stable across separate runs - running the script twice on the same history can hand out SYM1/SYM2 differently between the two files. This is intentional: a stable mapping across runs would make it easier to correlate two anonymised exports back to the same real symbols. MT4 only exports what the Account History tab has already loaded - if the row count looks short, right-click that tab, choose "All History", and run again.
