Anchored Volume Profile From Clicked Bar
An anchored volume profile answers "where has activity concentrated since this specific event" - an earnings gap, a news spike, a session open, wherever the trader chooses to start counting from. This indicator places a draggable vertical anchor line on the chart; click a different bar (or drag the line) and the profile rebuilds from that new anchor forward to the current bar. Each price bucket between the anchor's high and low is drawn as a horizontal rectangle, its width proportional to the volume attributed to that bucket, with the highest-volume bucket (the point of control) picked out in a second colour. A bar's volume is split across every bucket its own high-low range overlaps, weighted by how much of the bar's range falls in each bucket - a coarse but honest way to spread a single OHLC bar's activity across price without pretending to know the exact intrabar path, which plain bar data cannot supply. The naive version of this tool reads iVolume() and calls it done. MT4 has no real traded-volume feed from most forex/CFD brokers - every number behind this profile is tick count (price updates), not contracts or lots actually filled. The shape is still informative as a proxy for where the market spent time and saw activity, but it is not a literal volume-by-price reading, and the indicator says so on its own chart label as well as here. Notes and limitations - Every volume figure behind this profile is MT4 tick volume (price update count), never real traded contracts or lots - see the full description. Do not read bucket width as literal executed size. - A plain click anywhere on the chart moves the anchor to the nearest bar, even when the anchor line itself is not selected - this is a deliberate "click to anchor" workflow rather than requiring the line to be selected first, but it does mean an accidental click while reading the chart will relocate the anchor. - InpMaxBars silently truncates the scanned range on a very old anchor; the profile then covers "the last InpMaxBars bars up to now", not literally "anchor to now", once that cap is hit. - No trade or stop-loss logic - visual analysis only.
